You just linked a developed Revit model into a new project file and you cant seem to find it. If I just imported a project and I cant seem to locate the imported model the first thing I do is setup my radar. Open each view individually and zoom all (ZA) until you find the model you are looking for. National CAD Standards.

We have one model that was started in Revit before we knew any of the limitations of Revit. The task was to demolish a 1980s addition, restoring the building to its original design, and then adding our own additions. The model is not clean enough to develop construction documents so we have passed along that task to another architect.

Could the issue be coming from linked CAD files and not Revit files? As you may recall, if a linked CAD file is in a project that has Shared Coordinates then Revit can throw this error due to xref & Acad issues. one needs simply to do the following: 1) Xref each needed, live CAD file into a blank CAD file (0,0,0 and all).

Once an as-built model is done you might want to archive a copy of the model just incase the design scope changes and you have to start all over again with a clean as-built. like the change is some new data for the model. I upgraded a model once, from Revit 2009 to Revit 2011, and an odd thing happened. Some food for thought: Could it (read that as "it will") be better to let the walls be modeled as they will be built (with dead spaces in between), rather than using in-place walls that simply mimic old methodologies, like CAD or Hand drawn lines filled with poche or hatching? It occured to me that I never once posted pictures of any project I worked on, so here are two images from a model I built back in Revit 4.5. My boss asked me to put a project we did in CAD into ReVit. We got our feet wet with 3D modeling and didnt try to do condocs until I was confident I could troubleshoot any Revit issues.
