Barratt London is pressing ahead with plans for a major mixed tenure scheme in east London despite the weakening housing market. The firm has submitted plans to build seven blocks ranging from 8 to 30 storeys in Canning Town on a 4 acre site known as Crown Wharf on the River Lea. Around 35% or 241 of the planned 871 homes will be affordable. Under the plans drawn up by architects JTP and Met Works the tallest two central towers will be grey rising to 25 and 30 storeys.
