I never knew (until today) that you cant use the line work tool on objects that are contained in a design option. Of course the simple way to deal with this is to make the design option editable, but its still bit odd to me given that the linework tool is effectively a graphic override in the view youre working in. ► 2009. (38).

Which at first blush might appear to not necessarily a bad thing, given that the IgCC, first published in 2009, has only been adopted, in whole, but mostly in part, in maybe 17 jurisdictions, out of the more than 4,400 code adopting jurisdictions across the U.S., so there was room for wider adoption of a 2018 IgCC.

This workaround involves drawing a repeating detail line (with imported text) on top of a simple detail line. Goto Drafting. Now draw a detail line in any view of your project. Draw your repeating detail over your new detail line as though tracing the detail line. We design traditional, high-end residential work.

Quite often we need to organize our plots for different submittal package sets (Schematic Design Presentation, Land Use Permit, Plan Check, Construction Admin, etc). We decided that we also wanted to be able to sort the sheets in our project browser (and our drawing lists) by Submittal Package. and check the category Drawing Sheets.
