Plans go in for snaking Silvertown bridge

A planning application for a 305 metre zig-zag design pedestrian and cycle bridge at Royal Victoria Dock has been submitted. The crossing is part of the £5bn development of the Silvertown site by The Silvertown Partnership which includes Lendlease. The new design is a ‘Double S-curve’ shape and will also open at its mid-point with a double bascule mechanism allowing full use of the dock by large vessels.
