I created a video to describe what happens when Revit contours dont quite match up with the underlying cad file contours that were used to generate a toposurface. The first part of the video explains that the Site Settings usually dont match the contour interval settings of the cad source file. ► 2005. (73).

For example Ive tried to draw squares and cubes, even circles and spheres to test the extremes and predict the trigger of the error messages Ive written about before. This manifests itself in snap icons that appear to miss the element we are attempting to reference in the CAD file. Now i snap on the 2d element rather then cad.

Revit Structure was introduced (2005) and the conversation began again with engineers. One of the many stories we''ve heard that was meant to help us in our transition was how easily Revit worked with other CAD software''s data. What about the hours of design and investigation required to decide what to draw? Faster for whom?
