Ive been teaching our office how to use Revit Architecture. First thing you have to do is open the door (or other) family and add a reference plane (as shown below). Now select that reference plane and make sure that under its properties you change the Wall Closure parameter to TRUE. National CAD Standards. CAD Digest.

My journal of work in Revit as part of a 600+ member architecture firm. The last trick is, when you go to place the elevation, you choose "Reference other view" in the Options bar. Of course, because its an elevation tag, it will carry the sheet/detail number references when you place your drafting or rendering view onto a sheet.

Ive been teaching our office how to use Revit Architecture. In the options bar youll notice that you can "Reference other view" (for referencing a drafting view that is already present). The section line will snap to the angle of an adjacent reference plane but wont snap to the reference plane itself. CAD Digest.

Ive been teaching our office how to use Revit Architecture. First thing you need to setup are reference planes. Now the trick is that after youve created your elements you have to Edit the work plane of each element so that the elements are attached to the reference plane you would like them to "travel with."
