Always Be Phase Aware In every project file your modeled components have a phase created and a phase demolished parameter whether you like it or not. If you place a model component in a view that is set to the New Construction phase (under View Properties), that component automatically gets placed in the New Construction phase.

Lets say you have a project with worksets enabled and the whole model is on Workset 1 by default. No one else is going to be able to edit ANY modeled elements that are on that workset. or do a save to central and relenquish user-created worksets so other users can work on the model too. You just linked a developed Revit model into a new project file and you cant seem to find it. If I just imported a project and I cant seem to locate the imported model the first thing I do is setup my radar. Open each view individually and zoom all (ZA) until you find the model you are looking for. Design Reform.

Ive now seen this error show up in three different models, two from 2009 and one from 2010. At first I wrote it off, as the first two models were not 100% familiar to me, and I assumed it was some type of error related to the files, and something the user(s) had done. At some point, the design changed, but the data was left in place.

The task was to demolish a 1980s addition, restoring the building to its original design, and then adding our own additions. Once an as-built model is done you might want to archive a copy of the model just incase the design scope changes and you have to start all over again with a clean as-built. The model builder is going to have to do partial demolition of walls, floors, roofs, ceilings, etc.

like the change is some new data for the model. I upgraded a model once, from Revit 2009 to Revit 2011, and an odd thing happened. In hidden line mode, half the doors and windows had shaded glass (by design) while the other half had no shading. This can reset data in the model. Design Reform. Revit Zone.

Some food for thought: Could it (read that as "it will") be better to let the walls be modeled as they will be built (with dead spaces in between), rather than using in-place walls that simply mimic old methodologies, like CAD or Hand drawn lines filled with poche or hatching? It is more suited to a model that is about graphics.
