My journal of work in Revit as part of a 600+ member architecture firm. Could the issue be coming from linked CAD files and not Revit files? As you may recall, if a linked CAD file is in a project that has Shared Coordinates then Revit can throw this error due to xref & Acad issues. User can open Model B and SWC to fix.

We often have split level projects and weve had a lot of trouble isolating the stem walls and footings from the rest of the model for use in a foundation plan. In Visibility/Graphics go to Model Categories and uncheck everything except Detail Items and Walls.
