Some food for thought: Could it (read that as "it will") be better to let the walls be modeled as they will be built (with dead spaces in between), rather than using in-place walls that simply mimic old methodologies, like CAD or Hand drawn lines filled with poche or hatching? You'd then have consistent walls to schedule, etc.

The basis is a digital 3D model on which all parties involved in the construction project – from the architect and the construction company to the owner – work simultaneously and always have access to identical, up-to-date data and drawings. Subsequent service providers also benefit from data material and drawings.

To add to the complexity, the as-built drawings we had on file were not accurate to the true construction of the existing structure because the original architect had improvised the design during construction. The model is not clean enough to develop construction documents so we have passed along that task to another architect.

you can draw a simple building and link in a simple building (by shared coordinates) and move these two icons around a bit (clipped and unclipped) to see how the two models react or. It's a bit of a pity that these things do not seem to be so wll documented in the helpfiles. National CAD Standards. CAD Digest.

We decided that we also wanted to be able to sort the sheets in our project browser (and our drawing lists) by Submittal Package. and check the category Drawing Sheets. Drawing List. Leave the name Drawing List. The Drawing List on our coversheet shows ALL the drawings from ALL the different packages.

HOKs CAD Standards describe a Data Leader as someone "responsible for the execution of the CAD strategy including, the use of BIM, the folder structure and file-naming strategy, use of templates, and documenting specific project procedures." And not just our models but also the drawings we are getting from consultants.
