HMRC construction tax helpline takes 12 week holiday

Subcontractors with queries over their tax affairs have been left stranded after HMRC decided to shut its self-assessment telephone helpline for three months. The helpline closed on June 12 and is not due to reopen until September 4. We would urge HMRC to reopen the helpline.
