Even Microsoft Word or Excel warns us when we save a file to an older version and those are much simpler elements. What can they become and retain some usefulness? Here''s how far I took the design of Tiny House A before I decided to work out its location on site. I opened up my Master Site file and linked Tiny House A using positioning: Auto - Origin to Origin. I used the Move tool, and typed 22 into the temporary listening dimension that appeared. I was too lazy to make another design.

When Revit Systems was released in 2006, the essence of Autodesks marketing commentary was, "this is new software so it probably doesnt make sense to tackle a project with it unless the architecture team is using Revit too."

Filters will let us deal with that reasonably well, assuming the content is organized well. I look for building design separation and programmatic cues to help decide where to assign worksets. With those attributes, it would become the same (very useful) thing that 'lock layer' is in Autocad, post-2008.
