KeyNotes - You Keep Using that Word.

A good many of us in the AEC business are familiar with the concept of using keynotes on drawings. Most refer to being the keynote speaker at an event or related to music. Ideally it means we get drawings that are cleaner looking instead of the clutter of long descriptions nestled among the graphics that describes the building itself.

I get regular updates through my FB page on how the big event of The Hong Kong Institute of Building Information Modelling (HKIBIM) planned for the 13 th of December is shaping up. Still, the updates on successful sponsorships keep coming, so it looks like it will be quite an event. But, they did no good for the industry.

Revit OpEd: Five Minutes with a Toposurface

I created a video to describe what happens when Revit contours dont quite match up with the underlying cad file contours that were used to generate a toposurface. The first part of the video explains that the Site Settings usually dont match the contour interval settings of the cad source file. Changing these settings is often enough.

First up on updates in 2011, everything that was previously only available for Subscription customers (Q3 Subscription Advantage Pack) is available to everyone who buys Revit, needless to say, Autodesks sales pitch is, "buy the subscription pack it will be worth it" (something confirmed at the Media Day and recent Boston Revit User group events).
