In the past, I tried to use all sorts of parallels to explain this idea, from the ideas of visual skeletons, to coatracks fixed in space, but I still find myself meeting blank stares when I try sharing this as the ‘BIG secret’. These grids are 2D and represented (mostly) in plans. Because, if it is, the rest is sooooooo much easier.

It was meant to make it simple to alter the appearance of our model to be more in sync with what a structural engineer wants to see. Daryl used plan views as his example of how the help documentation isnt accurate. Plan views are not the best view type to see the truth in the help claims. They wont with Architecture.
