The question should not be, if the documents are coordinated but to what extent they are not; Being able to assess the method of creation of the original documents can be helpful in answering this dilemma.

Skeptics will say, that was no BIM, just 3D, but the fact is that I used 3D for documenting full buildings from the first day I learned ArchiCAD (4.5), applied appropriate materials (meta data!) – and jumped on the first opportunity of doing 4D models when I came across, the then extremely buggy and highly temperamental Construction Simulation.

We currently have 4 Revit projects under construction, but not all of our projects made it through the CD phase. To add to the complexity, the as-built drawings we had on file were not accurate to the true construction of the existing structure because the original architect had improvised the design during construction.

The only other images I have are photos of projects completed or under construction. Is this a remodel or new construction project? ArchiCAD vs Revit. Dont count me out completely though.

It started off with CAD, then, when BIM was getting strong enough to stay – it extended over almost anything to do with Construction Information Management. And there is more: I’ve had numerous run-ins with Archicad and GS over the years too. Being so bitter about Autodesk is to do a bit with my abstract being rejected by the Australian Revit Users’ Conference. I never quite got the point of existence of Vectorworks and have largely stayed away from Microstation.
