Retail Development and Construction: Going Vertical

HardHatChat

Is Your Vertical Retail Construction Project a Mess or a Success? Some may disagree, but we at Englewood Construction think the challenges commercial developers face in opening a store in a vertical mall are more complex than any other type of retail store construction. Why? Because a vertical shopping center can be made of many floors within a tight city block foot print that has only one opening (and if best two elevators) where all goods, materials, and debris can enter and exit.

What You Need To Know about Website Technologies

Help Everybody Everyday

Website 101 View more presentations from mhan7474. . Sometimes I am asked to do odd yet useful things at work. For example, I was asked to create a document that taught people the basics of website technologies. From a marketer’s perspective, many of us don’t know a whole lot about how websites work. Things like HTML, PHP, ASP, XML, MYSQL, RSS, and CMS sound more like crazy drugs you would take in college than things we would deal with on a day to day basis.

Energy Saving Light Bulbs

Green Home Design Architect

We’re greening up our new office by replacing the incandescent light bulbs with Earthmate energy saving bulbs. By using Earthmate bulbs, we will use an average of 75% less electricity, help reduce our dependence on fossil fuels (coal, oil, and natural gas) and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. For instance, we replaced our 45 watt overhead bulbs with Earthmate 8-watt Dimmable Reflector Bulbs, which will save us about $61 and last up to 7 times longer than our standard light bulbs.

Why design isn't king anymore

PSMJ Resources

Media blogger Charles Warner wrote in today's Huffington Post that media content is no longer king. Among other things, the proliferation of content of all types of quality on the Web was key to arriving at this point. Warner goes on to assert that mystery of parsing out the good bits of content has been solved by Google, which has become the largest media company in the world by being an aggregator of content, not an originator, a creator of content.

Retail Development and Construction: Getting Started

What Every Developer Should Ask General Contractors During the Retail Construction Bid Process. For my first blog post, a lot of people at Englewood Construction suggested I write about how to choose a retail construction company.
